Take your son’s cookie monster to work day

One recent morning I let the Dragon bring his cookie monster in the car on the way to school.  I do this when either 1) he’s feeling sad and needs a buddy, or 2) I’m feeling sad and want him to be happy, or 3) both.  He is allowed to have a buddy for naptime, but usually he doesn’t mind giving up whatever he’s been playing with when he gets to school, so I figure that’s okay, too. Side yard of horrors

We’re homeowners, and we live in the smallest house in what used to be a snazzy-for-us family-oriented cul-de-sac.  It’s still a family-oriented cul-de-sac, mind you, it’s just… less snazzy (even for us).  About 4 houses down from us is a house that has been for sale for, I think, 3 years (I am not exaggerating for once).  To top it off, our former across-the-street-neighbors walked away from their mortgage right before Memorial Day. I am not an expert in anything.
